Peg Solitaire (also known as Solo Goya, Hi-Q, or Brainvita) is a classic single-player board game played with pegs or marbles on a grid of holes. The main objective of the puzzle is to clear the board of pieces through strategic moves until only one peg remains.
Gameplay & Rules
- The Setup: The game begins with the board filled with pegs, leaving only one empty hole.
- Jumping Mechanics: A valid move involves picking up a peg and jumping over an adjacent peg into an empty hole directly beyond it.
- Removing Pegs: The peg that was jumped over is removed from the board.
- Valid Directions: Depending on the layout (cross-shaped, triangular, or hexagonal), jumps can be executed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Winning Condition
- Victory: You successfully clear the board and leave exactly one peg.
- Game Over: Multiple pegs remain on the board, but no more legal jumps can be performed.
